Life Has a Pattern

I've noticed events in my life tend to take on a pattern. Luckily it's an easy one. Everything seems to happen at once, and then nothing happens at all for a day, or three, and then everything happens at once again. As exhausting as it sounds, I like it.

The play is finished now. The cast party was a mixture of sad and happy. Saying goodbye to some people I knew I wouldn't see for a while, but enjoying getting together to just hang out for once, instead of having to worry about rehearsals. Epic water fights ensued. Future plays were discussed. Awesomeness abounded.

The next day I executed a plan I had been working on for exactly one week. A surprise birthday party for my dear Fin. She turned 18. Aside from showing up ten minutes late, the plan worked flawlessly. You can read about it HERE.

I've finally reached my few days of rest, which means I had time to read Owl City's latest blog post. Strange, I hadn't realized just how much of an introvert I really am. If you ever have trouble understanding me and my ways, please use this post as a guide line. It fits me perfectly.

For those wondering how my writing is going, the amazing, wonderful, unbelievable Sky finished editing The Way We Think the other day. I have not sent it in for my free proof copy from CreateSpace. Just didn't have the time. As for other writings I haven't been doing anything serious. I keep telling myself as soon as things settle down I need to work on the outline for Ash Valley, but maybe I just need to get myself to do it now.

Even now I can see more of life's events piling up in my future. Some are new, some are exciting, I'm praying all of them will be approached with my heart in Christ Jesus.

I leave you with this video. It has absolutely nothing to do with this post, but it does have Dick Van Dyke.

Just in case you didn't know, I've got an awesome friend. This awesome friend is kind of like a sister. Just in case you didn't know, her name is Fin.

She makes me laugh. She lets me call her dorky names that are not in the least bit flattering. I don't have to explain to her that, "no, I don't mean 'like, like'" when I say, "I like him."
I know when I have nothing to say, I don't have to talk. She doesn't care. I love the fact that she knows just how I feel when I can't figure out how to tell anyone else. I love the fact that people sometimes assume we're twins.

Most of all I love her. Her unselfish willingness to serve. Her awesome writing talent, and her love for the Lord. 'Cause in Him, we really are in the same family, and that's the best part.

Beautiful People - Ranen Ken

Ranen Ken

Ranen is one of the five main characters in my NaNo novel from 2010. His superpower is fire. He can manipulate it, conjure it from any heat source, and is not burned by it. His normal body temperature runs at about 150 degrees, and when he gets a fever, it's bad. He had a rather harsh background and has a lot of trouble controlling his temper.
Ranen Ken

What kind of music does he like?
He doesn't really listen to music. When he hears them he fancies guitar solos, but he'd much rather be listening to the crackle of a campfire than an instrument. To him, fire is music.

Does he like to go outside?
He actually prefers to be outside, although he doesn't mind being inside either.

Is he naturally curious?
No. Fact of the matter is, he really doesn't care.

Right, or left handed?

Favorite Color?

Where's he from?
He sometimes wonders if someone lit a match and he appeared from the trail of smoke. He's a wanderer and has been for as long as he can remember. Although, I suppose I can narrow it down some by saying, he's from somewhere on First World... of five.

Any enemies?
With a temper like his? He actually has trouble figuring out his enemies, from his friends. In his eyes, anyone who will scratch his back at that moment is a friend, anyone who won't... well... fire scares a lot of people.

What are his quarks?
He always wears flip-flops, when he's mad his hair smokes, and he's got amazing eyebrow flexibility.

What kind of things get on his nerves?
People who don't see things his way. Girls who burp, and skinny jeans.

Is he independent, or need others to help out?
Ranen is the meaning of independent. Until he met Grant and the gang there was no one to help out.

Beautiful People - June/July

They're just family, friends, and neighbors
Doing what they've always done
Lovin' fathers, lovin' daughters, lovin' mothers, lovin' sons
They gather 'round ole Glory
'Round the tables and the steeples
The beautiful people
The beautiful people

I discovered this song about a month after starting Beautiful People. I'm rather surprised I hadn't heard it before, considering Tim McGraw's my favorite country artist. Random moment, I know.

Anyway, lets cut to the bone. For those of you who would like to participate in Beautiful People, look below for this months questions! For those who haven't a clue what I speak of, you can read all about it HERE.

They Call Me a Techie

You know that moment when you look at your blog and realize you haven't posted in over a week... or is it two weeks? I don't really want to look right now.

The reason for my absence is due to a little thing that kind of took over my month of June. It's called a play. We're getting close to opening night, way close. It's tomorrow. In preparation we've had rehearsals every night this week.

We're doing The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, and before I'm asked, I'm not actually acting in it. No, I'm part of what's called "the tech crew," and don't mind it a bit. In fact, it's where I prefer to be.

Fin and I will be filming the first three performances. Afterwards we'll be working on getting the footage edited and onto DVD so we'll have it ready for the cast party a week later. Let me just say, as awesome as Final Cut Pro is, it would be really nice if I was suddenly enlightened on how to use it to its fullest extent. I suppose that takes time though... maybe by the time the next play rolls around.

For those who are wondering about Beautiful People, Sky and I will try and have it up soon!

In Which Georgie Announces her Love for Les Miserables

Yes, it's true. I'm in love with Les Miserables. Even though I still wonder if I'm saying it correctly.

I don't believe I can quite call myself a fan, considering I haven't read the book. In fact, I've only seen the 25th Anniversary performance on DVD. Uh, yes, that would be the one with Nick Jonas as Marius. No, I did not really like Marius. Yes, I gave him a chance and no, it wasn't just because he was played by Nick Jonas that I don't like him. Although, I did giggle when Fontaine's voice went deeper than I could ever imagine his going.

I don't think I could pick a favorite song. I love all of them really. I have my favorites, the obvious One Day More that everyone seems to love, Eponine's On My Own. I really like Do You Hear the People Sing, although I couldn't say it was my favorite.

Do you hear the people sing,
singing the song of angry men?
It is the music of a people
who will not be slaves again.
When the beating of your heart
echoes the beating of the drums
there is a life about to start
when tomorrow comes.

I'd like to watch a few more versions, including the 10th anniversary performance, and the one with Liam Neeson, if only to compare them to the 25th anniversary edition.
