Which Author Would You Meet?

If you haven't gotten the chance to read over the details of The Author's Giveaway, you can check it out HERE. Fin, Sam, and I are will be giving away some pretty awesome stuff, generously donated by Esty shop owners.

So, to gain an entry in the giveaway, answer the following question. You can either leave a comment with your answer, or write about it in a blog post of your own, and then leave a comment with the link to your post.

If you could meet any author from any time period, who would it be?

Ah, what a question. So many authors, so many time periods. This question is actually pretty easy for me though. Charles Dickens, without a doubt. I think that man would be awesome to chat with, and I'd love to hear some of his thoughts on writing. Somehow I get the feeling it wouldn't be the structured plot points, with character arcs and a diagramed outline posted on his wall. Yes, I think chatting with Dickens would be glorious.

To gain two more entries in the giveaway, be sure to visit Fin, and Sky's blog to answer the questions posted there!

  1. Oooh. That is tough. Ummmmm.

    Maud Hart Lovelace.

    Or C.S. Lewis.

Sorry, I can't choose between those two. Couldn't I meet them both?

  2. Lucy Maud Montgomery. I am quite sure she is a kindred spirit. :)

  3. So many good authors!! Um, I'll just focus on authors who are no longer living to make it easier, although I'd love to meet J.K. Rowling...

If I were to pick an author from the past, I think I'd like to meet Mark Twain. From what I've read, he sounds like so much fun! I'd love to hang out with him; I bet I'd be laughing the whole time. :)

  4. C.S Lewis, Agatha Christie, J.R.R. Tolkien, Ted Dekker, Laura Ingalls Wilder... of these five I can't seem to choose. How about all of them? :))

  7. Wow that's a tough one! Think how many authors are have lived on this earth, and more are being added by the day (wow that's a thought)!
But some that I would love to meet would be J.K. Rowling, author of Harry Potter, Suzanne Collings, author of The Hunger Games, or maybe even Jane Austin!

  15. Ooooooh....this is hard. There are so many! I think, from the past, I'm going to go with Victor Hugo, who wrote Les Miserables. Just to stand there and tell him that what he wrote was brilliant, and how on earth did he weave all those stories together. Also to ask why he had to include the entire architecture of the convent. :)

  16. Again, another tough question, but I'd have to pick the Bronte Sisters. There back round and stories are fascinating!

  17. What a lovely giveaway you are having. I'm so glad I stumbled upon it. If I could meet one author from any time period it I would pick... G.A. Henty. It's hard to decide but I think he's very interesting. And I love the books that he has written.
    Blessings,
    Tulip
